Description
The Earlham Institute is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to focus on bioinformatics in the study of crop diversity and adaptation. The role will involve developing long-read genome assemblies for non-model crops like bananas and Miscanthus, annotating genomes, and building pangenomes to understand genomic processes. The researcher will analyze chromosomal rearrangements, structural variants, and epigenetic changes, with a focus on improving resilience and productivity in clonal crop lines. A PhD in genomics, bioinformatics, or related fields is required, along with experience in plant genetics, genome evolution, and leading research projects. Training will be provided in bioinformatic techniques and methods
