This PhD project focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms behind trichome development and metabolism in tomatoes under heat stress. The research will investigate how heat stress affects the transition from non-glandular to glandular trichomes, using advanced techniques such as single-cell and spatial transcriptomics. The researcher will identify candidate genes, perform gene editing, and collaborate with other research groups. This project provides the opportunity to contribute to enhancing plant resilience in changing climates.
