The Niittylä group at the Umeå Plant Science Centre & SLU is offering a postdoctoral position focused on carbon assimilation and partitioning in Populus trees. The researcher will use functional genomics, metabolomics, and isotope flux analysis to investigate the molecular mechanisms behind carbon partitioning in trees, contributing to carbon sequestration studies. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in plant molecular biology, biochemistry, or physiology, with strong laboratory skills and experience in transcription factor characterization or metabolic flux analysis. Fluency in English and a publication record in peer-reviewed journals are required. Applications are due by 31 December 2024.
