The Simons Initiative for the Developing Brain (SIDB) at the University of Edinburgh offers fully-funded PhD studentships focused on understanding the biological mechanisms underlying autism. This 3.5-year program supports both home and international students, providing a stipend of £25,000 per annum and coverage of tuition fees. The research encompasses a wide range of topics, from basic neurobiology to translational brain sciences, with projects on neurodevelopmental disorders, neural circuits, protein synthesis, and cognitive dysfunction in autism models. Applicants should have at least a 2:1 undergraduate degree in neuroscience, biomedical sciences, molecular biology, genetics, or a related field. Students will be fully integrated into the research community, with no mandatory taught component, allowing them to focus on their scientific projects. Applications are due by Sunday, 26th January 2025, at 23:59 GMT.
