The Hydrologic Innovation and Remote Sensing (HIRS) Lab at Virginia Tech invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to work on a NASA-funded project focused on groundwater-related hazards. The project involves modeling groundwater dynamics, aquifer compaction, and validating model outputs using remote sensing technologies. The researcher will quantify hazards associated with groundwater overuse and evaluate water management strategies such as geospatial planning and managed aquifer recharge. Candidates with a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences or a related field and proficiency in technical programming and groundwater modeling are encouraged to apply.
