The Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (NCAC) invites applications for a postdoctoral position focused on the spectroscopic analysis of metal-poor stars, part of an international project investigating the early chemical evolution of the Milky Way. The successful candidate will work on analyzing low-resolution spectra, explore machine learning techniques for stellar analysis, and contribute to the 4MOST project. Candidates should have a PhD in Astronomy or Astrophysics (within the last 7 years) and a strong background in stellar or Galactic astrophysics, with solid programming skills. The position offers a two-year contract with a possible extension and includes a gross monthly salary of approximately 9400 PLN. Applications are due by December 6, 2024.
