The Swiss Nanoscience Institute (SNI) is offering a fully funded 4-year PhD position focused on cutting-edge quantum sensing research. The successful candidate will develop optically-detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) spectroscopy using nitrogen vacancy (NV) centers in diamond for single-molecule detection of biomolecules. The research will involve advanced fluorescence readout techniques, biocompatible experiments, and progress in optical quantum sensing aimed at molecular NMR of biomolecules. The position requires a strong background in physics or physical chemistry, optics, and fluorescence techniques, along with a keen interest in experimental problem-solving and method development
