King’s College London offers a PhD studentship in Chemistry focused on the design, synthesis, and characterization of new low oxidation state main-group organometallic compounds. The research will explore their reactivity, especially in redox-driven catalytic processes such as C–H activation and CO2 activation. The candidate will work with synthetic inorganic chemistry techniques, including NMR, XRD, and mass spectrometry, and receive training in reaction mechanisms and computational support (DFT). A 1st or 2:1 M-level qualification in Chemistry or a related field is required. The position provides a stipend of £21,237 per annum and funding for wet lab research.
