The University of Bern is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to the Next Generation Bern Earth System Model (Bern3D) with a focus on land vegetation dynamics. The project aims to improve the integration of climate models, simulate feedbacks between land, atmosphere, ocean, and ice sheets, and identify tipping points within the climate system. The researcher will validate model outcomes using paleoclimate data and simulate future climate scenarios. A PhD in Climate or Earth Science, advanced programming skills, and an interest in interdisciplinary research are required. Knowledge of dynamical vegetation modeling is advantageous.
