Description

The University of Twente is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to develop physics-based models for electromagnetic sensing in steel production processes. The successful candidate will focus on creating models to predict mechanical performance based on electromagnetic behaviors in steel sheets, considering factors like dislocation density, phase distribution, and residual stresses. This project will involve collaboration with an industrial partner, regular reporting, and the opportunity to present research at international conferences. Applicants should have a PhD in Computational Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field, with strong programming skills and a keen interest in modeling production processes. The position offers a salary range of €4,020 – €5,278 gross per month and is initially for 1 year and 8 months, starting in January or February 2025. Applications are due by November 30, 2024.
