This postdoctoral position focuses on the neuronal basis of compulsive alcohol consumption using animal models. The research aims to investigate molecular and neuronal networks regulating alcohol seeking and consumption, with a focus on the dorsal hippocampus. Techniques include in vivo brain imaging, local genetic manipulations, and advanced behavioral tasks, such as the IntelliCage system. The project is conducted in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry and aims to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying cognitive impairments in Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD).
