Description

UCLA is offering a postdoctoral position in genetics to investigate the evolution of vertebrate brain cells, with a focus on neurodevelopmental biology. The researcher will work primarily with sea lamprey and zebrafish, using techniques such as molecular biology, embryology, cloning, and genomics (RNA- and ATAC-sequencing). Experience with animal models, especially aquatic species, is preferred. The role involves collaborative work with UCLA and UC Berkeley, providing an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in brain evolution. Applicants should have a Ph.D., a strong publication record, and excellent communication skills. The position is set to start around May 1, 2025, and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
