Description

 The School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) offers a PhD project focused on understanding how individuals perceive real, AI-generated, and manipulated faces, including deepfakes. Supervised by Dr. Emma Stewart and Prof. Isabelle Mareschal, this project will explore the psychological mechanisms behind individual differences in recognizing and interpreting faces. The research employs behavioral, psychophysical, and eye-tracking methods, with training provided in experimental design and analysis techniques. This funded position is supported by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and is open to candidates with a strong background in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering. Applicants should ideally have knowledge of programming and eye-tracking methods, though this is not a strict requirement. The deadline for applications is 29th January 2025.
