Ghent University is offering a fully funded PhD position in integrated circuit (IC) design for Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) LiDAR technology as part of the NiteLiDAR Doctoral Network project. The research focuses on designing high-frequency electronic integrated circuits combined with photonic ICs to improve the integration, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of FMCW LiDAR systems. The PhD candidate will define receiver architectures, develop custom solutions, and conduct experimental validation. The position also offers collaborative opportunities within the international NiteLiDAR project. Ideal candidates should have a Master’s in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, with experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design using SiGe BiCMOS or CMOS processes, and proficiency in tools like Cadence.
